Gurugram, September 15, 2026: A viral road-rage incident on Gurugram’s Golf Course Road has triggered a heated debate over road safety and accountability after biker and social-media creator Sia publicly challenged the version of events given by the accused driver, Kalyan Bainsla.
According to reports, Sia was riding her Aprilia RS 457 motorcycle with a group of bikers on Sunday when a white sedan allegedly followed the group and collided with her bike. The impact threw Sia onto the road, while the car continued away from the scene. Footage of the incident was later circulated widely on social media.
Sia Rejects ‘It Was an Accident’ Explanation
Bainsla has denied intentionally hitting Sia. He has claimed that the collision happened near a U-turn and that he lost control while trying to avoid the bikers. He also said he did not stop because he feared that people accompanying Sia would attack him and his passengers.
Sia, however, has strongly disputed this explanation.
In a video statement, she questioned why the driver continued following the bikers if he believed they were merely riding aggressively or changing speeds.
She also pointed to videos from different angles that, according to her, show the car moving across lanes before hitting her motorcycle.
“If You Felt Sorry, Why Didn’t You Stop?”
One of Sia’s strongest questions was directed at the driver’s decision to leave the scene.
She questioned how Bainsla could claim to feel sorry for her while failing to stop after the collision to check whether she was seriously injured.
“If you felt so sorry for me, then why didn’t you stop?”
Sia said the consequences could have been far more serious and that she could have suffered broken bones or even died in the crash.
Driver Says He Feared Being Attacked
Bainsla has acknowledged that the collision occurred but maintains that it was not deliberate. He said he left because he feared confrontation with the group of bikers.
He has also alleged that several bikers were travelling aggressively and repeatedly overtaking or slowing down in front of his vehicle. His side of the story is being examined as part of the police investigation.
Police Add Attempt-to-Murder Charge
The case has since taken a more serious turn. Gurugram Police initially registered a case under provisions relating to rash driving and causing injury. Authorities later added Section 109 of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (attempt to murder) after examining the available footage, according to multiple reports.
Reports on September 15 said Bainsla was detained/arrested in Rajasthan in connection with the case. The investigation will determine whether the collision was accidental or intentional.
A Bigger Question About Road Safety
The Gurugram incident has reignited concerns about road rage, reckless driving and the safety of two-wheeler riders. The availability of multiple video recordings has also made the case a major topic of discussion online.
For Sia, the central issue remains simple: if the collision was genuinely an accident, why did the driver leave without stopping to check on the person he had hit?
The investigation and evidence collected by police will ultimately determine responsibility.
